He says he doesn’t see how I can’t accept snowboarding as a legitimate Winter Olympic sport. First, let me clarify. I never said I didn’t think snowboarding was difficult. It’s just that if we’re going to have snowboarding as a Winter Olympic sport, we really ought to have skateboarding as a Summer Olympic sport. They are essentially the same sport. And skateboarding has been around longer. So, it only seems right that if one of them is going to be an Olympic sport, it should be skateboarding. Or how about surfing? It’s awfully difficult.
Anyway, I have to say that we’re really enjoying the snowboarding. My sons think it’s “awesome”.

Surfing, skateboarding, inline skating, should all be olympic sports as well. I can think of at least one olympic sport they could remove to make room for these. For instance, synchronized swimming. Any sport that requires makeup should not be an olympic sport. At least that’s my take.
So what your saying is that Curling is a dignified olympic sport and yet, Snowboarding should not be classified as a olympic sport. Just because it is not mainstream does not mean it should not be considered a mainstream sport.
Well, mostly I’m just kidding about the whole thing, just to see how laid back the snowboarding culture really is. But if I were to make a comparison between curling and snowboarding I would have to point out that curling has been around since the 1400s, whereas snowboarding was created, what, last week?
Again, I’m mostly just being facetious. And, as you’ll see in the post I’m just about to put up, I think there are things about snowboarding that makes it the best Olympic sport around.
I do, however, wish they’d wear pants that fit.
Snowboarding in the Olympics is a joke! Especially awarding them gold medals! There’s no comparison to the skill or talent involved when compared to cross-country skiers busting their hump for 18 miles or down-hill skiers risking everything at 70 mph!
Up one side, twirl (or not) doing a front-side 1237 or whatever, then up the other while listening to an iPod no less! Just a punk kid sport better suited for the X-Games.
