The truth is I will not be watching the Olympics tonight. Well, actually, I’ll be watching the late night rebroadcast, but I won’t be watching the Olympics during part of the primetime broadcast tonight. Why not? Because I’ll be watching American Idol. Yep. That’s right. When push comes to shove, I’ll be watching to see if my favorite singers make it through, rather than watching to see who wins the Men’s Downhill Combined. Perhaps if I didn’t already know who won the Men’s Downhill Combined this would be a harder decision. As it stands, I’ll have to take a brief pause in my Olympic viewing for a different kind of television. Maybe I’ll watch the Olympics in one room while I record American Idol in the other. Decisions, decisions…

Darn! Idol was on tonight? Didn’t even occur to me.
I even thought of the show when one of the NBC commentators described a male figure-skaters routine… “It’s like a soccer player trying to tap dance.”
I think Simon must have hired himself out as a writer!
It’s on again tonight, too. Last night was narrowing down to 44 (there was some drama with the twins, and the singing cowboy was eliminated but, other than that, you didn’t miss much). Tonight is when they narrow it down to those who are actually going on.
