I Dont no everyhting about mens aerials but i watched the mens competition and i thought it was odd how Han Xiaopeng’s (China) first and seceond jump were both scored higher the Jeret Peterson’s (USA). Both of petersons jumps had far higher degrees of dificulty especially the second which had a difficulty of nearly five points and Xiaopeng’s had just over four. Peterson was also near perfect in air and form and a solid landing yet scored nearly ten points lower than Xiaopeng who was also near perfect in air and form and definetly landed better than peterson but i tought not near enough to warrant ten points higher for a degree of diffiulty that was far lower. After seeing the jump and hearing the two commentator’s (who i’m sure were either professionals at Men’s aerials or now a lot about it) excited reactions and hearing them mention that this was the highest degree of difficulty attempted in the competition i tought(and so did they(commentators))that that was good enough for gold or at least silver or bronze but to see him (Peterson) finish fifth seemed ridiculous . Even his (peterson’s) first jump had a higher degree of difficulty than Xiaopeng’s and Peterson’s landing on it (the first jump) was near perfect so i found it hard to understand how Xiaopeng’s first jump (and second jump) scored higher than petersons .
